March 11 One Flaw in Women

March 12th, 2013

Today is warm and it is Monday. I am flat lined creatively and physically probably from yet another insomniac restless night sleep where I try to solve everyone’s in the universes problems but I ache creatively also, which seems like an oxymoron. There is transformation on many levels. I read this poem today and want to share:

One Flaw In Women
Women have strengths that amaze men... They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy. They smile when they want to scream. They sing when they want to cry. They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous. They fight for what they believe in… They stand up to injustice. They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution. They go without so their family can have. They go to the doctor with a frightened friend. They love unconditionally. They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards. They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding. Their hearts break when a friend dies. They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left. They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart. Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors. They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you. The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning. They bring joy, hope and love. They have compassion and ideas. They give moral support to their family and friends. Women have vital things to say and everything to give.. HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN, IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH. ~anonymous

March 10 Sundays are good

March 12th, 2013

Sunday are good days. It is the conclusion and the connection in many ways. But I am in panic mode as well. My energy does not meet the needs to what I need to get done so I tell you all now to strip away all that isn’t important. Life is good and helps us. Today I thought I had to have an unscheduled celebration and it fizzled out. God is good. So I loved on my husband even more then visited some of my children and grandchildren.

March 9 Log A Running Artist

March 12th, 2013

I am running now about 4 miles. I have done a ˝ marathon. I am NOT athletic; I suffer from flat feet, bones spurs and a herniated lumbar disc with boughts of fibromyalgia. Hum buggy--- so the Irish pride does play a part here. I say …”hey, watch me, I may be a slow tortoise but I Do it.” I want to be an example to my children and grandchildren. I want to make a mark before I leave this planet. I am very good at rhythm and pulse and tuning in however. Therefore I am a decent dancer and I do yoga. I am ARTIST!   Why do I run at my age with my issues? It is that ‘heart on my sleeve thing again. But how much is connection to my aliveness and my core to the higher power and how much honestly is self-flagellation? I asked this of myself today as my knees screamed at me. I run for love of my spouse and I pray when I run, I pray through the pain. I also feel proud of my internal strength afterwards. So I suppose like anything intense, it is a paradox. On one hand the notion, “I can” comes the next thought: “I think I will.” An excerpt from Julia Cameron’s writing about the Artist’s way says, “The artists has a vision and that vision includes the successful completion of the art that is in mind. An artist is like a lover who cannot pause to entertain the possibility of being spurned. His whole impulse to love.“ So is there a connection with love and creativity? Both elements are powerful in my nature.

March 8 Log Contracting and Expanding

March 12th, 2013

8 March
Nelson Mandela has remarked that we do no one any favors hiding our light and pretending to “be smaller than we are.” When the creative power moves through me I wish to expand, but I also want to hide and contract because it is very uncomfortable for me to be in the light. It is more comfortable for me to push my loved ones into the light, helping. Being brought up Catholic we are taught to be humble. And being brought up with a twin sister I was constantly resented if I did shine. I wanted to be loved so I hid. When I write this down it sounds quite silly. I need to resist this desire for approval and love. We are spiritual beings and when the spirit evolves we need to, we must create and shine our light. I think I need to cooperate because we will feel the pinch of the spiritual “dis…ease” (if you will) That is what makes me blue sometimes I think. I am feeling like in quicksand, very stuck when I am in the war of when to expand and when to contract. Creativity is God s nature and our own. We need to know when to surrender.
